1. Why did you create Pixie Care Co.?
Short, pixie hairstyles are gorgeous, sexy, and daring. They can boost wearers' confidence and encourage them to make bold lifestyle choices; but they are notoriously high maintenance.
Pixie Care Co. aims to empower women to be more confident in their decisions to cut their hair by providing strategies and products that help them maintain their hairstyles between salon visits.
2. Why sell hairstyle maintenance kits for short hair?
We surveyed 60 pixie wearers in January 2021. Unfortunately, 6 out of 10 people reported that their short hairstyles only last 1-4 days, 65% reported that they must visit the salon or style their hair every week, and 1 in 5 wearers said they sleep in uncomfortable positions trying to preserve their hairstyles.
We think that's unacceptable; short hair doesn't have to be high maintenance!
3. What about my hairstylist? They won't like me playing in my hair.
Our products and maintenance kits are not intended to replace your hairstylist. Instead, they are designed to complement the artistry of hairstyling by allowing clients to maintain their looks at home.
4. An item was missing or broken. What is your refund policy? Do you accept returns?
If items are missing/broken, please contact us at erica@pixiecareco.com to determine the cost of the refund. Must provide proof of damage. However, due to the hygienic nature of many of our products, we cannot accept returns.
5. Why do you have the pre-order option?
We offer pre-order options to reduce our environmental impact. We only produce what we sell; thus, we waste fewer products and use less space and energy.
6. What do you mean by "stylist-approved" or "hairstylist-curated" products?
Our founder worked with a group of hairstylists to identify and test each product to ensure they can preserve most short hairstyles and promote healthy hair.
7. I don't know how to do hair; can I use your products to maintain my short hairstyle?
To help pixie wearers maintain their looks at home using our products, we developed an easy-to-follow style maintenance guide.

8. I already have a hairstyle maintenance routine for my short hair; which kit should I get?
The Basic Maintenance Kit is designed for pixie wearers who already know how to preserve their style and only need travel-ready hair products.
In contrast, the Premium Maintenance Kit is our complete maintenance system designed for wearers who have no idea how to keep that "fresh from the salon" look.
9. Will these products actually help me maintain my hairstyle between salon visits?
Our founder experimented to find out whether Pixie Care Co. products could help maintain short hairstyles. She stopped going to her hairstylist for 6 months and only used Pixie Care Co. products to style her hair (she continued to get relaxers and had friends trim her hair).
Before the experiment ended, she ran into her stylist at an event, and the stylist didn't believe she styled her hair. We think this is impressive evidence!
10. Why do you say "pixie wearers"?
We recognize that men, women, and those along the gender spectrum love short, pixie hairstyles. Thus, we use that term to be inclusive and welcoming of all.
